Painting as Metaphor: I began a series of paintings seeking images of natural events that would symbolize the current crisis brought about by Global Warming. My first painting was Brushfire, done during the Australian Fires; The second was a boat taking on water at once a common site in Nova Scotia but also a portend of the oceans rising.
